APC Chieftain Breaks Down In Tears Over Alleged Removal From Assembly Aspirants’ List
An aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Abdulmajeed Abdulfatai, has expressed deep frustration following the alleged removal of his name from the list of aspirants for the upcoming State House of Assembly elections.
Abdulfatai, who is seeking to represent Ilorin Central (Mangaji Ngeri) constituency, was seen in a viral video circulating online, visibly emotional and weeping as he decried what he described as injustice within the party.
Speaking in Yoruba, the APC chieftain lamented that despite his long-standing loyalty and contributions to the party and the Kwara State Government, his name was omitted from the official list of aspirants.
He described the development as a betrayal, stating that he was shocked upon discovering that his name was not recognised among those cleared to contest the election.
Abdulfatai questioned the rationale behind the alleged exclusion, insisting that he had fulfilled all necessary requirements and remained committed to the party over the years.
The incident has sparked reactions among party members and observers, raising concerns about internal processes and transparency in the selection of candidates ahead of future elections.
In a separate political development, another APC chieftain, Ciroma Almajiri Joseph, recently withdrew from the Kaduna South Senatorial race ahead of the 2027 elections.
Joseph, popularly known as Hasken Southern Kaduna, announced his decision after consultations with stakeholders and declared support for the incumbent senator, Sunday Marshall Katung.
He explained that his withdrawal was aimed at promoting unity within the party and ensuring political stability in the region.
The twin developments highlight ongoing internal dynamics within the APC as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the next general elections.
