AIIYC Applauds Arogboibe-Voice CEO’S Global Journalism Exposure, Commends PAP Administrator
The Arogbo Ijaw Ibe Youth Council (AIIYC) has congratulated the Chief Executive Officer of Arogboibe-Voice Reporters, Doctor Kegbe, on his recent departure abroad for advanced studies in journalism, describing the development as a significant milestone in his professional career and a source of pride for the Arogbo-Ijaw community.
In a statement issued on Sunday, September 6, 2026, and signed by the outgoing Publicity Secretary and President-elect of the council, Comr. Utanghan Ebikontei, the AIIYC leadership said Doctor’s decision to further his education in journalism was particularly commendable given his longstanding commitment to documenting and projecting the history, culture and experiences of the Arogbo-Ijaw people.
The council maintained that effective storytelling and the preservation of a people’s heritage require journalists with the requisite professional training, exposure and understanding of contemporary global practices.
It further commended the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, for supporting the human-capital development initiative, noting that investments in education, professional capacity and international exposure could have a far-reaching impact on young people across the Niger Delta.
According to the youth council, Doctor’s role as an employer of labour through Arogboibe-Voice Reporters also underscores the broader significance of his professional advancement, as the knowledge and experience gained from the programme could extend beyond his personal career to benefit those working with him and the wider community.
While wishing the journalist a successful and rewarding academic experience, the council expressed optimism that his return would bring fresh perspectives and renewed professional capacity to his work of telling the Arogbo-Ijaw story.

PRESS STATEMENT
We, the leaders and members of the aforementioned youth council, wish to heartily felicitate with one of our own, Doctor Kegbe, Chief Executive Officer of Arogboibe-Voice Reporters, on his recent departure abroad to undertake advanced studies in journalism.
We consider this opportunity a significant milestone in his professional journey and a moment of pride for the Arogbo-Ijaw community. We are particularly delighted because Doctor has consistently demonstrated a strong passion for documenting and projecting our history, culture, people and community to the wider world through journalism.
We firmly believe that the story of our people cannot be adequately told, preserved and projected without journalists who are properly trained, professionally equipped and exposed to global best practices.
His decision to advance his knowledge and deepen his expertise in journalism is therefore a step we wholeheartedly welcome and celebrate.
We also wish to commend the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, for supporting this laudable human-capital development initiative.
