Sunday Igboho Distances Self From Rescue Of Kidnapped Adelabu Family Members
Yoruba Nation advocate, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has dismissed reports suggesting that he was involved in the rescue of members of the Adelabu family who were recently abducted in Oyo State.
In a statement issued on the matter, Igboho described the claims as inaccurate and misleading, insisting that he played no role in the operation that led to the victims’ release.
According to him, the successful rescue was carried out by security agencies that traced the kidnappers to their location, secured the freedom of the victims, and apprehended suspects connected to the crime.
He emphasized that the commendation for the operation should be directed entirely to the security personnel who planned and executed the mission.
Igboho’s reaction followed comments reportedly made by media personality Rufai Oseni linking him to the rescue effort. He urged members of the public to verify information before sharing it and to rely on confirmed reports regarding security-related matters.
The victims, relatives of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, were rescued during a security operation that attracted significant public attention across the country.
The incident has further highlighted ongoing concerns about security challenges in parts of the South-West, while also drawing praise for the efforts of security agencies involved in combating kidnapping and other criminal activities.
Residents and public officials have continued to commend the operatives responsible for the successful rescue, describing the outcome as a positive development in the fight against crime in the region.
