BREAKING: Tinubu Sends Top Security Team to Oyo as Federal Govt Moves on Oriire School Abduction Crisis
A high-level Federal Government delegation has arrived in Ogbomoso, Ogbomoso, following the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, Oriire Local Government Area.
The visit was ordered by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and is being led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The delegation also includes the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, the Inspector-General of Police, the Minister of Defence, Christopher Musa, the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, alongside other senior security and government officials.
According to officials, the team’s mission is to conduct a “fact-finding and security assessment visit” aimed at reviewing the circumstances surrounding the abduction, engaging with affected communities, and coordinating an urgent federal response.
A source within the delegation described the move as part of “immediate steps to strengthen security architecture in vulnerable communities and ensure the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers.”
The visit underscores escalating federal concern over the incident, as security agencies intensify efforts to track down the abductors and secure the release of the victims, while reassessing protection measures in schools across affected areas of Oyo State.
