A serious political controversy has emerged in Ese-Odo Local Government Area following allegations published by Creekview TV over an alleged plot to alter the long-standing rotational arrangement between the Arogbo Ijaw and Apoi communities.

According to the Creekview TV report, a group identified as Concerned Stakeholders for Peace and Unity in Ese-Odo LGA accused the Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo LGA, High Chief Ebi Molos, Hon. Toyin Allen, and others of allegedly planning to influence traditional rulers and community leaders in a bid to extend political tenure arrangements.

The report further alleged that efforts were being made to secure support through inducements for documents aimed at changing the established rotational political system, a move it claimed could threaten peace in the area.

The publication also warned that such actions, if true, could trigger political tension and called for possible accountability measures.

However, in a swift reaction, the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo LGA, Faith Iseoluwa Ero, dismissed the allegations as false, misleading, and politically motivated.

He maintained that the Executive Chairman has not engaged in any plan to alter existing agreements or influence traditional rulers, describing the claims as baseless and intended to incite tension in the local government.

The statement further urged the public to disregard unverified reports, stressing that no credible evidence has been presented to support the allegations.

It reaffirmed the council’s commitment to peace, unity, and respect for the established rotational arrangement between the Arogbo and Apoi communities.

Meanwhile, stakeholders have called for calm as attention continues to focus on maintaining stability in the area.
