Tinubu Approves Cabinet Reshuffle, Replaces Finance, Housing Ministers
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a minor reshuffle within the Federal Executive Council, resulting in the exit of two key ministers.
The affected officials include Wale Edun, who served as Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, and Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, the Minister of Housing and Urban Development.
According to an official statement issued through Yomi Odunuga, Special Adviser on Media to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the changes were formalized in a memo signed by George Akume.
As part of the reshuffle, Taiwo Oyedele has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. He previously held a junior ministerial role within the same ministry.
In the Housing Ministry, Muttaqha Rabe Darma has been named as minister-designate, pending the completion of formal processes.
The presidency directed that all handover procedures be concluded by April 23, 2026.
Explaining the rationale behind the changes, Akume noted that the reshuffle is intended to improve coordination within the cabinet and enhance economic policy delivery under the administration’s agenda.
President Tinubu also expressed appreciation to the outgoing ministers for their service, while signaling that further adjustments within the cabinet may occur as part of ongoing governance reforms.
