PH City LGA Moves to Improve Efficiency as Chairman Distributes Vehicles
In a move aimed at strengthening administrative efficiency and improving grassroots governance, the Chairman of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Allwell Ihunda, has distributed official vehicles to top functionaries of the council.
The beneficiaries include the Vice Chairman, Leader of the Legislative Assembly, 20 Ward Councillors, the Council Secretary, Chief of Staff, and the Chief Security Officer.
The presentation ceremony, held in Port Harcourt, underscored the council chairman’s commitment to equipping public officials with the tools needed to effectively discharge their responsibilities and enhance service delivery across the local government area.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Hon. Ihunda said the vehicles were provided to facilitate smoother coordination of government activities and improve the operational capacity of both the executive and legislative arms of the council.
“This administration is committed to creating an enabling environment for our officials to perform their duties efficiently in the interest of the people,” he stated.
He noted that improved mobility for council officials would strengthen monitoring, supervision, and implementation of projects and policies at the grassroots level.
The gesture has been described by observers as part of ongoing efforts by the administration to reposition the council for more effective governance and responsive leadership.
Political stakeholders and residents who witnessed the event commended the initiative, saying it would contribute to faster response to community needs and better coordination of council activities within the city local government area.
