Oyo Police Launch Manhunt For Kidnappers Of Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons

The Oyo State Police Command has commenced a full-scale investigation into the abduction of Mrs. Olufunmilayo Aduke Adegoke, sister of former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, and her twin sons in Ibadan.

The victims were reportedly kidnapped on Wednesday, prompting an immediate response from security operatives in the state.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed that the Commissioner of Police directed the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Challenge Division, alongside tactical units, to swiftly mobilize to the scene upon receiving the distress report.

According to the police, the victims’ vehicle has been successfully recovered, while intensive search and rescue operations are currently underway to locate the abductors and secure the safe release of the victims.

The Command assured residents that all available operational resources and intelligence assets have been deployed to facilitate the rescue mission and ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.

DSP Olayinka appealed to members of the public to remain calm and continue supporting security agencies with credible and timely information that could aid ongoing investigations.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Oyo State Police Command to safeguarding lives and property across the state, adding that further updates would be provided as the investigation progresses.

The incident has heightened concerns over security in the state, with residents expressing hope for the swift and safe rescue of the victims.
