King Ateke Tom at 62: Otuaro Hails Monarch’s Contributions to Peace, Stability in Niger Delta

The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro, has congratulated the traditional ruler of Okochiri Kingdom in Rivers State, His Royal Majesty, King Ateke Tom, on the occasion of his 62nd birthday.

In a statement sent to Arogbo-Ibe Voice Reporters on Tuesday and signed by the Special Assistant on Media to the PAP Administrator, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Dr. Otuaro described the monarch as a respected traditional ruler whose leadership has continued to promote peace, unity, and development in Okochiri Kingdom and the Niger Delta region.

He noted that King Ateke Tom, also known as the Sekuro of the Niger Delta, has played a significant role in advancing peace, security, and stability across the region.

According to Otuaro, the monarch has consistently demonstrated commitment to his traditional responsibilities since ascending the throne, with notable developmental impacts in his domain.

The PAP Administrator emphasized the importance of traditional institutions in grassroots governance, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding, describing them as key stakeholders in the Niger Delta’s stability and development.

He reaffirmed the programme’s commitment to continued engagement and collaboration with traditional rulers in strengthening peacebuilding initiatives across the region.

Otuaro also called on residents of Okochiri Kingdom to sustain their support for the monarch and his council of chiefs in their efforts to promote unity and development.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon King Ateke Tom, including wisdom, good health, and longevity.
