Mulade Disowns Fake Withdrawal Claim, Insists NDC Primary Victory Remains Valid
The campaign organization of Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade has strongly condemned a purported statement circulating on social media alleging that the Warri Federal Constituency aspirant stepped down from the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) primary election and endorsed another candidate.
In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Publicity of Team Sheriff Mulade Campaign Organization, Comrade Friday Ugedi, the campaign described the publication as entirely false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to distort the outcome of the party’s primary election.
According to the statement, Chief Mulade neither withdrew from the contest nor endorsed any other aspirant at any stage of the electoral process.
The campaign maintained that the circulating publication did not originate from Chief Mulade or any authorized member of his political structure and should therefore be disregarded by party members, supporters, stakeholders, and the general public.
“The attention of our campaign organization has been drawn to a fabricated statement being circulated on various social media platforms, falsely suggesting that Chief Sheriff Mulade conceded defeat and endorsed another aspirant. We wish to state categorically that the publication is fake, fraudulent, and does not reflect the position of our candidate,” the statement said.
The campaign alleged that the misinformation campaign was orchestrated by individuals dissatisfied with the outcome of the primary election and seeking to create confusion among party faithful and members of the public.
It emphasized that Chief Mulade remains the duly elected winner of the NDC primary election for the Warri Federal Constituency and continues to enjoy widespread support across Warri North, Warri South, and Warri South-West Local Government Areas.
The statement further noted that the attempt to circulate false information would not alter the democratic mandate freely given to Chief Mulade by delegates during the primary election.
“Our candidate remains committed to the principles of democracy, transparency, fairness, and inclusive representation. He has not issued any statement withdrawing from the race, conceding defeat, or endorsing any other aspirant,” the campaign added.
The organization urged supporters to remain calm, focused, and law-abiding while ignoring what it described as desperate efforts to undermine the will of the delegates.
It also reaffirmed confidence in the integrity of the primary election process and expressed optimism that the outcome would withstand any scrutiny.
The campaign concluded by stressing that no amount of misinformation, propaganda, or political pressure would invalidate the mandate secured by Chief Sheriff Mulade.
“The mandate remains intact, the victory stands, and the journey towards providing effective and inclusive representation for the people of Warri Federal Constituency continues uninterrupted,” the statement added.
