The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Adolphus Wabara, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is working to destabilise the opposition party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wabara made the claim on Monday during the 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the PDP, where he accused the APC of collaborating with some suspended members of the party to undermine its structure.

According to Wabara, the APC has allegedly engaged in actions aimed at weakening the PDP, including instituting what he described as “groundless and damaging litigations.”

He further alleged attempts to compromise key institutions such as the judiciary, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security agencies.

Despite the allegations, Wabara maintained that the PDP remains determined to reclaim power in 2027, positioning itself as the platform to address the challenges facing Nigerians.

“Nigerians are earnestly praying for the PDP to rise again, take centre stage and rescue our nation from the claws of the Tinubu-led APC administration,” he said.

He argued that many Nigerians are experiencing hardship under the current administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and are looking to the PDP as an alternative.

Wabara also called on party members to remain united and focused, stressing that internal cohesion is critical to achieving electoral success.

“This is why the APC, in collaboration with certain suspended members of our party, have been desperate to destroy our party… but the PDP will never die,” he stated.

He urged the party to reposition itself strategically, expressing confidence that Nigerians would use the ballot box in 2027 to determine the country’s political direction.
