Breaking: Apoi Leaders Resist Move to Endorse Toyin Allen for Assembly Seat at Yesterday’s Akure Meeting

0

A meeting convened to endorse Hon. Toyin Allen, an Apoi indigene, for continuation as a member of the Ondo State House of Assembly reportedly met stiff resistance on Sunday.

The meeting, held at Heritage Hotel in Akure, brought together some political leaders from both Arogbo and Apoi communities in Ese-Odo Local Government Area.

Sources at the meeting told our correspondent that the proposed endorsement did not go as planned, as several stakeholders; particularly from the Apoi bloc, opposed the move, citing concerns over the existing political rotation arrangement in the area.

The development is believed to be connected to the long-standing zoning understanding between Apoi and Arogbo, which many insist should be respected to maintain peace and balance in political representation.

As of the time of filing this report, details of the disagreements and the outcome of the meeting remain sketchy.

More details are expected to emerge later.
