Mr. Agboola Ajayi, the governorship candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, is confident that the ongoing crisis within the party’s national leadership will not hinder his chances in the election. He emphasized that the PDP in Ondo remains united.

In an interview in Akure, Ajayi stated that the party’s internal issues are not significant enough to impact the upcoming election. He said, “I am not interested in becoming the president of Nigeria or the national chairman of the party. My focus is on being the governor of Ondo State.”

He noted that local dynamics are crucial in politics, asserting that the PDP in Ondo is cohesive. Ajayi acknowledged that disagreements and factions are common in politics but expressed belief that they would eventually come together to work towards a shared goal that benefits the country.

He also pointed out that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is facing its own challenges, but insisted that his priority remains governing Ondo State, where he believes the people are united.
