Justice Ministry partners security forces to combat insecurities in Ondo state
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has teamed up with the Ministry of Justice to safeguard critical national assets and handle prosecutions in the state.
During a courtesy visit from the NSCDC legal team to the state Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Olukayode Ajulo, SAN, Commandant Oluyemi Ibiloye emphasized the need for collaboration and support from the attorney general.
Ibiloye noted that while the command’s legal officers are successfully securing convictions, they face challenges in prosecuting state offenses. He highlighted the importance of their partnership in protecting critical national infrastructure and combating the rise of illegal mining in the region.
In response, Ajulo pledged full support from his ministry, assuring that a fiat would be provided for prosecuting state matters as needed. He stressed the importance of human resources as the nation’s greatest asset and expressed eagerness to make a significant impact. Ajulo confirmed that the ministry has promptly addressed all gender-based violence cases referred by the NSCDC and promised to ensure the command is equipped to fulfill its responsibilities.
