Tinubu’s Oil Revolution: Security Agencies Get Tough on Criminals
President Bola Tinubu has given a directive to security agencies to revamp the security architecture to ensure Nigeria meets its target of producing 2.1 million barrels of crude oil per day.
This was disclosed by Gen. Christopher Musa, Chief of Defence Staff, after a meeting with the President on Friday.
Musa assured that the President is committed to addressing the grievances of oil-host communities and warned criminals sabotaging oil infrastructure that their days are numbered.
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, also briefed the President on the current security situation, noting that crime rates are declining in Nigeria.
With the current crude oil production standing at 1.472 million barrels per day, the government is determined to tackle pipeline vandalism and criminal activities hindering the country’s ability to meet its OPEC production quota.
