The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), Arogbo Clan, made an unscheduled courtesy visit to Hon. Donald Ojogo, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency.

During the event at Hon. Ojogo’s office, the youth body expressed their gratitude for his swift recovery from a recent health issue. They also commended him for his advocacy, particularly his advice to Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayeidatiwa of Ondo State on the Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) and its implications for the people of Ese-Odo Local Government.

The IYC representatives informed Hon. Ojogo that their correspondence regarding these issues is already with the Governor’s Chief of Staff. They seek discussions on equitable representation in OSOPADEC and the ongoing teacher recruitment.

In response, Hon. Ojogo appreciated the Ijaw Youth Council’s efforts and encouraged further collaboration with key stakeholders to benefit the Niger Delta region. He emphasized the upcoming focus on the Agadagba-Obon/Arogbo bridge project and urged Ijaw youths globally to foster unity, avoiding division and betrayal.

Furthermore, Hon. Ojogo stressed the importance of Ijaw participation in the discussions on state creation in the Nigerian Senate. He suggested that the Ijaw National Congress (INC) collaborate on submitting a memorandum concerning this matter.

Comrade Toibokumoh Arigidi, Chairman of IYC Arogbo Clan, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception despite the impromptu nature of the visit. He reaffirmed their commitment to engaging with stakeholders to bridge generational gaps in societal advocacy.
