Mbaka Urges Oyo Government To Act Swiftly On Schoolchildren Abduction
The Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Nigeria, Ejike Mbaka, has called on the Oyo State Government to intensify efforts toward securing the release of schoolchildren and teachers recently abducted in the state.
Speaking during a church service, the cleric expressed concern over the worsening security situation and urged authorities to take decisive action to ensure the safe return of the victims.
Mbaka specifically challenged the administration of Seyi Makinde to demonstrate leadership in addressing the crisis, emphasizing that the safety of citizens remains a primary responsibility of government.
The outspoken priest also urged Nigerians to hold public office holders accountable for security challenges affecting their communities, stressing that immediate and coordinated action is necessary to tackle the growing threat of kidnapping.
According to him, criminal activities such as the abduction of schoolchildren should not be allowed to become tools for political manipulation or sources of public fear.
He warned that insecurity poses a threat to all citizens, noting that no individual or community can consider itself completely safe while criminal elements continue to operate freely.
Mbaka further expressed sympathy for the affected families and offered prayers for the safe release of the victims, while condemning those responsible for the abductions.
The cleric called on security agencies and relevant authorities to deploy all available resources to locate the abducted children and their teachers, bring the perpetrators to justice, and strengthen measures aimed at preventing future incidents.
His remarks come amid growing public concern over the rising cases of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of the country, particularly following recent attacks targeting schools and communities.
