The President of the federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has acknowledged the late father of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Hamzat, as a significant influence in his entry into politics.

Speaking on his early career, Tinubu recounted how the elder statesman encouraged him to leave the corporate sector and pursue a political path.

He described him as one of the key figures who not only introduced him to the political space but also provided consistent support during his formative years.

At the time I started my political ambition and I left the corporate world, he was one of those pillars who invited me to politics. He stood by me firmly,” Tinubu said.

The president’s remarks underscore the role of mentorship and political alliances in shaping leadership trajectories, particularly during the early stages of public life.
