A top member of the All Progressives Congress, Isaacs Kekemeke, has announced his plan to contest the Ondo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections
The APC chieftain made this known in a statement on Tuesday, explaining that his decision came after sustained encouragement from party stakeholders, including community leaders, youths, and women groups within the district.
According to him, consultations were held with key figures in the party, including the Ondo State Governor, , before he formally declared his ambition.
Kekemeke said he is committed to providing effective and people-oriented representation, stressing that his focus would be on addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of Ondo South if given the mandate.
He also pointed to his extensive background in public service, noting that he has held several strategic positions in the state, such as a lawmaker, commissioner, and party leader, which he believes have prepared him for the role.
The APC leader expressed optimism that the level of support he has received reflects confidence in his capacity to represent the district effectively at the national level.
