In an interesting development, Chief Isaacs D. I. Kekemeke, popularly known as “Leke Leke,” has added another academic milestone to his distinguished career, having bagged a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from Ekiti State University.
Kekemeke, a Nigerian lawyer, administrator, and veteran politician from Ondo State, currently serves as the National Vice Chairman (South West) of the All Progressives Congress and Board Chairman of the Nigerian Postal Service, a position he assumed in January 2025.
Born on July 2, 1963, the legal practitioner, who holds the title Hon. Dr. D. I. Kekemeke has built a formidable political and administrative career spanning decades. He was the pioneer chairman of the APC in Ondo State and also served as Minority Leader in the Ondo State House of Assembly.
His wealth of experience in governance includes key executive roles such as Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Attorney General, and Commissioner for Justice, as well as Commissioner for Works in Ondo State. At the federal level, he made history as the pioneer Chairman’s of the National Examinations Council before his current appointment at NIPOST.
Kekemeke has also remained a prominent figure in Ondo State politics, having contested multiple times for the governorship seat. Notably, he declared interest in the 2024 APC gubernatorial primary, where he emphasized his vast experience and commitment to governance and development.
He is also proudly from the Arogbo-Ijaw Kingdom in Ese-Odo Local Government Area, a notable riverine community in Ondo State known for its rich cultural heritage and political influence.
The attainment of a PhD. from Ekiti State University is seen by political observers as a significant boost to his already robust profile in public service and leadership.
