Tantita Strengthens Nigeria’s Security Architecture with Drone Control Centre
Nigeria’s push toward technology-driven security received a boost as Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited unveiled a state-of-the-art Drone Command and Control Centre during a high-profile visit by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
The minister was received at the company’s headquarters by the Managing Director, Kestin Pondi, who led officials on a tour of the newly established facility described as the first of its kind to be developed by a private security firm in Nigeria.
The command centre is designed to deploy advanced drone technology for surveillance, aerial intelligence gathering, and rapid operational coordination, particularly in areas considered critical to Nigeria’s economic and security interests.
Speaking during the visit, Pondi said the project reflects the company’s commitment to strengthening modern security operations through innovation and technology.
“This centre marks a new phase in private sector participation in security. By integrating drone technology into surveillance and response systems, we are improving the capacity to monitor strategic assets and respond quickly to threats,” he said.
The facility will serve as a hub for drone-based monitoring, allowing operators to track activities across wide operational areas while coordinating field responses in real time.
Industry observers say such capabilities are increasingly vital in tackling issues such as illegal oil activities, maritime threats, and infrastructure protection.
The unveiling underscores Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited’s growing role in Nigeria’s security ecosystem, particularly in supporting surveillance efforts within the nation’s coastal and oil-producing regions.
Analysts note that the introduction of a privately operated drone command centre signals a broader shift toward technology-enabled security solutions and deeper collaboration between government authorities and private security providers.
