Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday received members of the Forum of Leaders of the Legislative Council at the Government House in Akure, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to deepening collaboration with the legislature at the grassroots level.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Forum and Leader of the Akure South Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Adeniyi Henry, paid the courtesy visit as part of efforts to foster unity and cooperation across all arms of government in the state.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, while welcoming the forum, praised the role of legislative councils in driving effective governance at the local level. He emphasized that his administration recognizes the importance of legislative input in policy formulation and implementation, especially in delivering development to communities.
“The engine of democracy runs best when all its parts – the executive, legislature, and judiciary – are working in harmony,” the governor stated. “We are partners in progress, and I believe that together, we can achieve greater results for the good people of Ondo State.”
Rt. Hon. Adeoye, in his remarks, commended the governor for his inclusive leadership style and the attention given to local government development since assuming office. He assured the governor of the forum’s continued support and readiness to collaborate on initiatives that will bring more dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
The visit also featured a closed-door session, during which discussions were held on legislative autonomy, developmental priorities, and strategies for strengthening democratic institutions across the state.
With the meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa continues to consolidate his administration’s outreach to key political stakeholders, ahead of strategic governance and political milestones in the state.
