Atiku Accuses APC Governors, Tinubu Administration Of Diverting Public Funds For 2027 Campaign
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has accused governors elected under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of allegedly diverting public funds for political campaigns ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued through his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku alleged that the administration of President Bola Tinubu was working closely with APC governors to channel public resources into accounts allegedly dedicated to the president’s 2027 re-election bid.
According to the former vice president, funds meant for governance, infrastructure, and public welfare are being redirected toward political mobilisation activities ahead of the next presidential election.
Atiku argued that the alleged misuse of public resources is contributing to worsening economic hardship, insecurity, and rising poverty across the country.
“The Tinubu-led APC administration is in cahoots with APC governors to divert your resources to dedicated accounts for Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign,” he stated.
He further claimed that the reported disagreements and tensions within the Progressive Governors’ Forum may be connected to disputes over the management and distribution of the alleged campaign funds.
Atiku also warned Nigerians against supporting the ruling party for another term if the current economic challenges and governance concerns persist.
The remarks add to the growing political tension and early positioning among major political actors ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.
