Ogun Farmer Found Dead In Forest

The lifeless body of a 25-year-old farmer, Toye Dominic, was found hanging from a tree in a forest near Alagbodagbo village, Ijebu Igbo, causing shock and concern among the local community.

A hunter, Kareem Olawalose, reportedly stumbled upon the tragic scene during a hunting trip and quickly informed the police.

Confirming the incident in a statement on Thursday, Ogun State Police Command spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, said the discovery was made around 4:30 p.m.

Upon receiving the report, police officers arrived at the scene alongside villagers, including Dominic’s elder brother, Joseph, who revealed that the deceased had gone to his farm that morning but never returned.

Investigations showed that Dominic had abandoned his farm tools before wandering deeper into the forest, where his body was later found hanging.

No suicide note was recovered, and his family expressed deep shock and disbelief over the incident.

Authorities have since moved the body to the General Hospital in Ijebu Ode for further examination, while the police have assured the public of a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Odutola urged the public to stay vigilant and emphasized the importance of mental health awareness. She also called for more support for individuals experiencing emotional distress to help prevent similar tragedies.
