The family of the late nonagenarian, Pa E.K. Clark, has clarified that no individual or group has been authorized to engage with the government at either the federal or state level, or with any organization or individual, to seek support, negotiate, or make arrangements for his burial.

In a statement signed by Mr. Panaowei Clark, Chief Ebikeme Clark, and Miss Emomotimi Clark, the family emphasized that any such arrangements must involve them directly.

While acknowledging the need to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in finalizing the burial date and plans, the family appealed for patience and cooperation from all concerned parties.

The statement read: “Since the passing of our beloved father, Pa E.K. Clark, on February 17, 2025, our family has been receiving numerous sympathizers and well-wishers at his country home in Kiagbodo, Delta State, as well as his residences in Lagos and Abuja.

“We are deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from everyone who has reached out to us during this difficult time. We sincerely appreciate the Federal Government and state governors for their condolences and for the moral and financial support they have provided in hosting our many visitors.

“We also extend our gratitude to the Ijaw National Congress (INC), the Pan Niger-Delta Forum (PANDEF), Afenifere, Arewa, Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, the Middle Belt Forum, and various other socio-cultural groups and well-wishers who have shown solidarity.

“We recognize that, as a national figure, our late father’s burial requires careful planning and coordination involving multiple stakeholders beyond just our family.

“In light of this, we wish to inform the public that no one has been given the mandate by our family to engage with governments, organizations, or individuals to solicit support or make burial arrangements without our direct involvement.

“As we continue working with stakeholders to finalize the burial date and programs, we ask for everyone’s understanding and cooperation.

“Once again, we express our sincere gratitude to all those who have sympathized with our family and ask for your continued support,” the statement concluded.
