Ese-Odo Chairman, High Chief Molos, Leads IGR Expansion Drive

In a bid to enhance internally generated revenue (IGR) and improve public service delivery, the Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, High Chief Caleb Ebimobowei Molos convened a meeting with registered associations within the council area. The engagement was aimed at fostering economic growth and ensuring sustainable development beyond reliance on federal allocations.

The Council Chairman emphasized the significance of diversifying revenue sources, stating that the local government cannot unilaterally depend on federal monthly allocations to achieve meaningful progress. He stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and business associations to boost economic activities and enhance meaningful service delivery.

The meeting was attended by key government officials, such as the Acting Chairman of Arogbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Samuel Jemi, Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Mr. Egbukuyomi Fidelis Ola, Leader of Council, Rt. Hon. Elijah Jeremiah, Deputy Leader of Council, Hon. Perry Ofoetitan, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mr. Kutelu Olumide, Director of Finance and Supplies (DFS), Mr. Olarewaju Adeyemi S., Director of General Services and Administration (DGSA), Barr. Johnolt Ebipatei, among other top government functionaries.

The meeting saw participation from various registered associations, including tailors, barbers, hairdressers, okada riders, boat/ canoe operators, tipper truck drivers, sand dealers, timber, plank merchants, motor operators, local distillers, palm kernel buyers, mill owners, welders, and patent medicine sellers.

While reacting, the representatives of these associations shared their challenges with the chairman, who assured them of prompt attention to their concerns for possible solutions.

This groundbreaking initiative by the local government Chairman, High Chief Molos, being the first of its kind in the council area, earned widespread support. The leadership of the associations expressed their willingness to comply with local government regulations for the purpose of strengthening the revenue generation efforts of the Council Chairman. They also pledged unwavering support to the Ebi Molos led administration in fostering sustainable development in Ese-Odo Local Government Area.

The success of this deliberation further affirmed His administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and economic progress for the people of Ese-Odo.
