The Ondo State House of Assembly confirmed two commissioners-designate, Dr. Kayode Ajulo and Mrs. Omowunmi Issac, following their nominations by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa after his inauguration on Monday. A motion for the confirmation was moved by Mr. Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi (APC/Owo 1) and seconded by Dr. Chris Ogunlana (Irele/APC).
Deputy Speaker Mr. Abayomi Akinruntan presented the report, stating that the nominees met the qualifications required to serve as commissioners and were both mentally and physically fit for their roles.
Member Chief Olamide Oladiji spoke in praise of the nominees, noting that both had excelled in their professional fields and contributed significantly to the state. He highlighted Dr. Ajulo’s status as a distinguished legal professional with national honors, and Mrs. Omowunmi’s expertise in finance and her significant contributions to Ondo State’s development.

Oladiji urged the nominees to perform their duties with integrity and dedication to ensure the state remains a positive reference among its peers. After a voice vote, the majority of lawmakers confirmed the appointments.
Following the confirmation, Ajulo expressed gratitude to the governor for his trust, assuring that they would serve according to the law. The House also approved the governor’s request to appoint 10 special advisers before adjourning plenary until the following day.
