Demand N100 Million Ransom, Allegedly Received N50 Million for His Assassination

The abductors of Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, National President of the Afenifere National Youth Council, have reportedly given a 48-hour deadline for his ransom payment, threatening to end his life if N100 million is not provided.

In a distressing video message, Ojajuni allegedly confirmed that he had been shot in the buttock by his captors. A recorded conversation between a family member and the kidnappers, obtained by Our correspondent, revealed tense negotiations, with the family struggling to meet the demand.

“We don’t have that kind of money. We are planning to sell a small piece of family land in the village. If we sell it, we’ll see how much we can raise. How do we bring the money? Where do we pay?” the relative pleaded.

However, the kidnappers reportedly refused a N10 million offer, insisting on the full amount.

“God forbid bad thing. If you continue talking nonsense, I swear to Almighty God you won’t hear from me again. The last price my boss gave me is N100 million, but if you can raise something better, let me know,” one of the abductors was heard saying.

During the exchange, one of the kidnappers allegedly revealed that an unidentified individual had already paid them N50 million to execute Ojajuni.

“Let me tell you the secret. Someone paid us N50 million to kidnap him and kill him. We were instructed to cut off his head, his manhood, and remove his eyes for them to collect. If you don’t pay, forget about this man,” the kidnapper reportedly disclosed.

Ojajuni, making a desperate appeal in the video, urged his family to contact Nigerian human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, for assistance.

“They have given me a 48-hour ultimatum. If the ransom is not paid, they will kill me. This is my last chance,” he pleaded.

An official statement from the Afenifere National Youths Council has confirmed Ojajuni’s abduction, which reportedly took place on Monday, February 17, 2025, in Abuja.

Abiodun Aderohunmu, the National Secretary of the council, expressed grave concern over the situation:

The Afenifere National Youths Council is deeply saddened to announce the kidnapping of its National President, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni. The unfortunate incident occurred Monday, February 17, 2025, in Abuja, and the kidnappers have demanded a ransom of N100,000,000.

During the kidnapping, Prince Ojajuni sustained a bullet wound on his buttock. We are deeply concerned about his safety and well-being and urge the kidnappers to release him unharmed.

Prince Ojajuni is a prominent figure in Nigeria and a strong advocate for youth empowerment and development. We call on the Nigerian authorities to take immediate action to ensure his safe release. We also appeal to the general public to provide any information that may lead to his rescue.”

A source within the council disclosed to Arogbo-Ibe Voice Reporters [AIV] that, “The kidnap happened on February 17. They shot the President twice. And he has bullet wounds. They are saying N100 million or nothing.”

As of the time of this report, Nigerian security agencies have yet to issue an official statement or provide updates on ongoing efforts to secure Ojajuni’s safe release.
