In response to the persistent attacks by herdsmen and bandits in the Niger Delta, prominent activist Super Comrade Joseph Evah has called on the region’s governors to take decisive action in protecting their people. He expressed frustration over the continuous killings, kidnappings, and assaults on villagers, travelers, and farmers, lamenting that appeals for security interventions have fallen on deaf ears.

Evah contrasted the inaction of South-South governors with that of their South-West counterparts, who mobilized and established the Amotekun security outfit to combat similar threats. “What is the problem with our South-South governors? What is making them afraid of Abuja?” he questioned.

As a spiritual response, Evah has initiated a Deliverance Service Prayer Day, where Niger Delta mothers will intercede for divine intervention and the awakening of regional leaders. Over 2,000 Bibles will be distributed during the service as part of the movement’s call for divine protection and leadership revival.

Beyond security concerns, the activist also called on state leaders to leverage the abundance of rural resources in the Niger Delta to create jobs for the youth, drawing inspiration from the legacies of past visionary governors—Samuel Ogbemudia (Old Bendel), Alfred Diete-Spiff (Old Rivers), and Udoakaha Esuene (Old Cross River).

With insecurity on the rise and economic challenges persisting, Evah’s call for both spiritual and political action is expected to resonate widely across the region.
