Why Christians Should Fully Participate in Politics – Kumuyi
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Williams Kumuyi, has expressed concern over the limited participation of Christians in active politics, urging them to take responsibility for nation-building.
Speaking during a press briefing to announce the ministry’s annual retreat, themed “Power for Present Possession” and the “Global Crusade with Kumuyi,” which commences today at the Ogun State campground, Pastor Kumuyi emphasized the need for Christian involvement in governance.
“So, if the Christians don’t take part in politics, first off, it means that this side alone without any Christian will determine the direction we go and will determine what the country becomes,” he said. “And the Christians have no right to complain if they are not available to make things better.”
The cleric also called on elected leaders at all levels to prioritize the welfare of citizens, reminding them of their duty to deliver the dividends of democracy.
“We all see the condition and what is going on. Our leaders are elected leaders, whether we are thinking of the local government, state, and whole nation, or the federal government,” he noted.
The retreat and crusade are expected to attract thousands of participants, offering spiritual empowerment and hope for positive societal transformation.
