PDP strengthens effort to secure Ondo win
Ahead of the November 16, 2024, governorship election in Ondo State, the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strengthened its efforts to secure the victory of its candidate, Hon. Agboola Ajayi. Party stakeholders in the state have also expressed confidence in the leadership of the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, recognizing his contributions towards the party’s success in the upcoming election.
During a key meeting last Saturday in Oka Akoko, leaders and members of Ward 7 in Akoko South West Local Government Area called for unity and greater effort in support of the party’s candidate. The resolution, signed by various party officials, reaffirmed their commitment to securing victory for the PDP in the election.

The meeting also acknowledged the efforts of elected officers in Ondo State, praising their dedication to the party’s unity and success. Additionally, Hon. Debo Ologunagba was commended for his exemplary leadership at both the state and national levels, with a unanimous vote of confidence passed in his honor.
Meanwhile, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has emphasized the need for a violence-free election in Ondo State. With preparations for the election nearing completion, the IPCR called for a focused campaign on ensuring peaceful conduct, stressing that peace is essential for the state’s socio-economic and political development. Dr. Joseph Ochogwu, the IPCR Director-General, highlighted the importance of peace in maintaining stable and sustainable electoral processes.
