Asari Dokubo, the former president of the Ijaw Youth Council, has accused President Bola Tinubu of backing his minister, Nyesom Wike, in efforts to destabilize Rivers State. In a recent interview with Arise TV, Dokubo warned of severe consequences if Wike succeeds in ousting current Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara.

Despite previously criticizing Tinubu in videos, Dokubo affirmed his loyalty to the president, citing Tinubu’s support during his struggles with former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He mentioned that he would continue to support Tinubu in future elections, even as he expressed a preference for aligning with the North over the South-West.

Dokubo, an Ijaw from Rivers State, clarified that he turned down an offer for a pipeline contract from Tinubu, emphasizing that his backing is not about personal gain. He stated that his focus is on his community’s needs and revealed he invested over $2 million in Tinubu’s campaign without regrets.
