Sustaining Peace in the Niger Delta:Chief Otuaro Ph.D visits HRM Mujakperuo (rtd), CFR, Orhue 1, Orodje of Okpe to foster peace, development in N’Delta
Chief Dennis Brutu Otuaro Ph.D, administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), recently paid a courtesy visit to HRM Felix Mujakperuo, the revered Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, as part of his ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts to foster peace and security in the Niger Delta region on Tuesday in his palace in Delta State.
Chief Otuaro briefed the monarch on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to implementing reforms and developing the region, while equally emphasising the crucial role traditional institutions play in building sustainable peace and security.
During the meeting, Chief Otuaro shared the achievements of his administration in the past few months, highlighting the progress made in promoting peace and development in the Niger Delta.
The Orodje of Okpe, in turn, thanked Otuaro for recognising the importance of traditional institutions and advised him to continue his innovative leadership to ensure the region’s development and peace.
Chief Otuaro assured that, President Tinubu is dedicated to maintaining peace and security in the Niger Delta, and his Excellency is not taking the current stability for granted.
The meeting emphasised the vital role traditional institutions play in building sustainable peace and security in the region.
It is instructive to note that, the visit demonstrated Chief Otuaro’s efforts to engage stakeholders and promote peace in the Niger Delta, aligning with President Tinubu’s vision for the region’s development.
