Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide has supported Chief Edwin Clark’s call for the arrest of Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, over his threats to incite violence in states governed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if they interfere in Rivers State politics.

IYC spokesperson, Amb. Binebai Princewill, emphasized that Clark’s stance is endorsed by Ijaw youths and argued that Wike should be held accountable if his actions lead to unrest. The IYC condemned Wike’s threats as reckless and warned that such statements could destabilize Nigeria.

Princewill stressed that Wike’s comments are severe and that security agencies must address them to prevent potential chaos. He criticized Wike for acting with impunity and called for the federal government and security agencies to take decisive action. He warned that Wike’s behavior undermines the rule of law and could lead to further instability in an already troubled country.
