APC Chieftain, High Chief Francis Soriwei, affectionately known as “Abuja Daddy,” was honoured with the distinguished degree of Doctor of Humane Letters at a prestigious ceremony held by the British American Open University of California on August 24, 2024. The event, celebrated at the university’s affiliated centre in Abuja, Merit House Auditorium, Maitama, was attended by notable figures from both the academic and political spheres.
The honorary degree, Litterarum Humanarum Doctor, is conferred upon individuals who have made significant contributions to society through humanitarian and philanthropic efforts. Soriwei’s recognition comes after a series of impactful research and dedicated service in these fields.
The degree was presented by Professor Walter Parish Terry, Vice-Chancellor of the British American Open University of California, who praised Soriwei’s commitment to societal betterment.
