Drama Unfolds as Police Attempt to Arrest Rev. Dr. Epistle
The Miyenkirigbolomowei ll of Cherubim and Seraphim Church of Zion, Bolowou National headquarters, and King of Zion worldwide, Most Rt. Rev. Dr. Epistle I.O Jemine, was attempted to be arrested by the Nigerian Police Force while entering the Sanctuary of God to preside over the anniversary celebration at C & S Church of Zion, Zion-city, Snr. Boanerges Nasiri Docky’s Church, Akure.
According to eyewitnesses, the arrest attempt was thwarted by the intervention of renowned legal practitioners, church members, and his Inspector General of Police team accompanying the King of Zion. However, the police officers threatened to return with reinforcements, claiming they were acting under orders from the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 17 Akure.
The incident has raised concerns about religious persecution and the safety of religious leaders in the region. The King of Zion has vowed to continue his spiritual duties despite the intimidation. The anniversary celebration proceeds as scheduled, amidst heightened security measures.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the High Court II, presided over by Hon. Justice Neonad Ologun, on Monday, August 5th, 2024, made a pronouncement protecting the King of Zion from arrest. The court ruled that no police officer or security agency should arrest him, as the matter is already in court. This pronouncement came after the King’s lawyer complained about harassment by security agencies.
Interestingly, the head of the AIG team, Mr. Temitope, who claimed to have an arrest warrant, was unable to provide the warrant when requested. This raises questions about the legitimacy of the attempted arrest.
