Ondo’s oldest monarch passes away at 102 after 48-year reign
Oba Fredrick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, the remarkable Owa of Idanre and the oldest monarch in Ondo State, has passed away at the age of 102.
He ascended the throne of his ancestors in September 1976 after the death of his father, Oba Aladegbule Aroloye Arubiefin III, and ruled for 48 years.
His death marks the end of an era for the people and land of Idanre community, and his dynamic leadership and sagacity are widely missed, mourned and celebrated.
Ondo State’s Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, expressed his condolences to the family, emphasizing the loss to both the Idanre community and the entire Sunshine state.
Oba Aroloye’s reign was characterized by his unwavering dedication to peace, development, and harmony, leaving behind an enduring legacy of faithful and productive leadership.
