Shaibu Warned to Refrain from Political Violence as Edo Government Promises to maintain Law and order.

The Edo State Government has expressed concern over the recent violence and destruction perpetrated by a group of individuals allegedly affiliated with former Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu.

Shaibu and his supporters were reportedly enforcing a court judgment that reinstated him to office as the deputy Governor.

However, their actions resulted in attacks on innocent civilians and damage to private property along Airport Road in Benin City.

The government has warned Shaibu to cease his violent behavior and reminded him that he is not above the law. His actions will have consequences, despite his claims of enforcing a court judgment. A stay of execution has been filed, and the government urges the public to remain calm and go about their daily business.

The government is committed to maintaining law and order in the state and will deploy necessary resources to ensure peace and stability.

Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Osa Nehikhare, made the statement on behalf of the government.
