Ondo State Launches Three-Day Tax Administration Workshop
The Ondo State Government, in collaboration with the Joint Tax Board (JTB), launched a three-day training program in Akure for revenue service staff from six South-West states. The training focuses on tax audit, investigation, compliance, and enforcement.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa opened the event, emphasizing taxation as crucial for government functionality and public service provision. He highlighted the need for adaptation to the evolving economic environment to maintain fiscal stability and support development.
Segun Adesokan, Secretary of the JTB, underscored the board’s role in enforcing tax compliance and praised the initiative for enhancing participants’ skills in revenue generation. Tolu Adegbie, Chairman of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service, described the program as essential for improving tax administration practices and fostering economic and social progress.
The training is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen tax systems and ensure efficient and equitable revenue collection across the South-West states.
