Operation Secures the Poll: NSCDC CG Audi Arrives Osun, Declares Zero Tolerance for Saboteurs
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has arrived Osun State ahead of the forthcoming election, declaring the Corps’ readiness to enforce a robust security architecture aimed at protecting critical national assets, electoral facilities and other strategic infrastructure across the state.
The NSCDC helmsman made the declaration during a strategic visit to the Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, where he reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to ensuring that critical infrastructure remains protected before, during and after the electoral exercise.
Audi issued a stern warning to individuals or groups who may attempt to exploit the election to vandalise public infrastructure, disrupt electoral operations or undermine national security.
“There is no room for vandalism or sabotage. We will decisively deal with anyone who attempts to disrupt the electoral process or compromise critical national assets and infrastructure,” the Commandant General stated.
He stressed that the Corps would operate within its statutory mandate while maintaining professionalism, political neutrality and strict compliance with approved Rules of Engagement.
The CG further underscored the importance of intelligence-led policing, operational discipline and seamless coordination with sister security agencies, noting that inter-agency synergy remains critical to preventing threats and responding swiftly to emerging security challenges during the election.
Governor Adeleke commended Prof. Audi for personally undertaking the operational visit, describing the NSCDC’s continued protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in Osun as vital to the state’s security and stability.
The NSCDC’s deployment is part of broader operational preparations designed to safeguard strategic infrastructure, protect electoral facilities and create a secure environment for eligible citizens to exercise their civic rights without fear or intimidation.
With the Corps drawing a clear security red line against vandalism, sabotage and electoral disruption, security authorities have reiterated that the forthcoming poll must be conducted in an atmosphere of peace, order and strict respect for the law.
