The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Samuel Ogbuku, has emerged as the new Paramount Ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, assuming the traditional title of Daufa VI.
His emergence followed the constitutional succession process of the Ayakoro Kingdom, six months after the demise of the late Paramount Ruler. Before ascending the throne, Ogbuku served as the Deputy Paramount Ruler of the community.
The transition process was supervised by the Bayelsa State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, which also confirmed the emergence of Micah Itesi as the new Deputy Paramount Ruler.
Speaking shortly after his installation, Daufa VI expressed gratitude to the people of Ayakoro for the confidence reposed in him, describing his emergence as a call to greater service and responsibility.
He pledged to lead with humility, integrity, and dedication to the welfare of the people, while promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across the community.
The new monarch also assured residents of his commitment to working closely with stakeholders to foster progress, strengthen harmony, and build a more prosperous future for Ayakoro and generations yet unborn.
Residents and stakeholders have expressed optimism that the reign of Daufa VI will usher in a new era of stability, growth, and development in the historic riverine community.
