APC Primaries: Okowa Defeats Ned Nwoko to Clinch Delta North Senate Ticket

Former Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa has emerged as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Delta North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Okowa secured victory during the party’s senatorial primaries conducted across the nine local government areas of the district, defeating incumbent senator, Ned Nwoko.

According to the announced results, Okowa polled 113,309 votes, while Nwoko recorded 2,612 votes.

Speaking after the exercise, Okowa appreciated party members and supporters for their confidence in him, pledging to provide quality representation for the people of Delta North if elected in 2027.

He also stressed the importance of elected representatives maintaining close contact with their constituents, assuring party faithful that he would remain accessible and regularly engage with the people across the senatorial district.

The APC primaries in Delta State have continued to generate political reactions, with several high-profile contests reshaping the party’s landscape ahead of the next general election.
