High Chief Lawuru Mobilizes Youth Support for Governance and Stability
The Leader of the Southern Youth Movement and the Ozigizaga security Network services Nigeria Limited, High Chief Promise Lawuru (Ozigizaga 1, Otitibiriti) has announced plans to mobilize youths across the southern region for a one million-man march in support of good governance, unity, and national development.
The two-day mobilization is scheduled to take place from May 8th to May 9th, 2026, and is expected to draw participation from youths across the South-South, South-East, and South-West regions of Nigeria.
Speaking on the initiative, Lawuru described the planned march as a strategic effort to encourage active youth participation in governance while promoting stability and progress across the country.
“This is a movement for unity and development. It is about bringing young people together to support good governance and contribute positively to the growth of our nation,” he said.
He noted that the march will highlight the role of young people in nation-building, while encouraging leaders to sustain policies that foster economic growth, infrastructure development, and improved living standards.
“We believe in a Nigeria that is progressing, and as youths, we must play our part in supporting initiatives that move the country forward,” Lawuru stated.
Lawuru, a strong supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, emphasized that the mobilization aligns with ongoing efforts to strengthen national unity and promote inclusive development across regions.
“This march is also a show of support for leadership that is working towards stability and national development. We are mobilizing to encourage continuity, peace, and collective responsibility,” he added.
He further assured that the march will be peaceful, well-coordinated, and focused on constructive engagement, calling on participants to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the event.
“We are committed to a peaceful and organized exercise. This is about showcasing the strength, discipline, and unity of Nigerian youths,” he said.
According to GbaramatuVoice findings, coordination is already ongoing across various states, with local structures being put in place to ensure effective participation and seamless organization ahead of the scheduled dates.
The Southern Youth Movement says preparations are intensifying as anticipation builds across the region for what is expected to be a major youth-driven mobilization.
