Ese-Odo LGA Confirms Amapere Road Project, Clears Misconceptions
The Ese-Odo Local Government has officially confirmed that the ongoing widening and grading of township roads in Amapere are part of a broader infrastructure initiative across the council area.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary, the full press release reads below:
RESPONSE TO YOUTHS OF AMAPERE COMMUNITY, MISLEADING THE PUBLIC ON TOWNSHIP ROADS WIDENING AND GRADING IN AMAPERE TOWN
The attention of the Office of the Executive Chairman of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, High Chief Caleb Ebimobowei Molos, has been drawn to a misleading publication by the Youths of Amapere Community, discrediting the widening and grading of Amapere township roads.
The records show:
1. The High Chief Molos-led administration declared a local government-wide township roads widening and grading project, which started in Igbobini with a flag-off ceremony by Vice Chairman, Mrs. Beauty Fayowole Modimu-Ogbaro, representing the Executive Chairman.
2. The project has progressed to Sabomi and other towns in Apoi Land since last month and continues in March.
3. On March 30, 2026, the Council’s Works Department, led by Engr. Akponamini Pughikumo, worked on Amapere township roads, focusing on gradable roads, including Basic Health Centre Road and the road leading to late Dr. Jonnes Wonni’s residence.
4. High Chief Molos instructed the operators to grade the road leading to Dr. Jonnes Wonni’s residence, recognizing the late doctor’s contributions to the Council.
5. The pictures used by Youths of Amapere Community to discredit the project were taken by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman.
6. The Youths of Amapere Community should note that their kinsmen, Mr. Monday Akerele, Mr. Ufewei Ukpas, and others, were at the sites during the grading.
7. The Ese-Odo Local Government warns those attempting to undermine its efforts.
8. The Youths of Amapere Community and the general public should know that the Molos-led administration will not be deterred from its infrastructure development goals.
Thank you and God bless!
Denis Pounah,
Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman
Ese-Odo LGA.
