DANGOTE REFINERY INCREASES PETROL PRICE NATIONWIDE
Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced an increase in the price of petrol across Nigeria following the conclusion of the festive season.
The refinery disclosed that the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit has been adjusted from ₦699 per litre to ₦799 per litre, reflecting a return to normal market conditions.
Following the review, petrol is now selling at an average of ₦839 per litre at MRS filling stations nationwide.
According to the company, the earlier price reduction was a temporary measure introduced during the holiday period to ease financial pressure on consumers amid increased festive spending.
The refinery noted that this marks the second time it has implemented interventions during festive seasons to support Nigerians. In 2024, it absorbed logistics costs to stabilise fuel prices, while in 2025 it reduced petrol prices to calm market volatility and improve affordability.
However, the company expressed concern that several filling stations failed to pass on the reduced prices to consumers during the intervention period, limiting the intended relief for motorists and households.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring steady fuel supply, promoting market balance, and contributing to long-term price stability and energy security in Nigeria.
