The Niger state Governor, Umaru Bago, has announced the dissolution of the State’s Executive Council.

The declaration was made during the monthly cabinet council meeting held in Minna.

The dissolution affects all commissioners in the state, signaling a major shake-up in the governance structure. However, Governor Bago confirmed the reappointment of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, and other principal officers, who are expected to continue in their respective roles.

This move represents the first major restructuring of Bago’s administration since assuming office, and it is expected to pave the way for fresh appointments aimed at repositioning governance in Niger State.
