A 28-year-old final-year student of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO), Precious Arobo, has tragically died by suicide in Ondo State.
Arobo, an HND II student, was discovered lifeless in a nearby bush by residents of the area. Reports indicate that he may have left a note before taking his life, though the full details surrounding the incident remain uncertain. Sources close to the situation believe the note suggested he was experiencing emotional distress, possibly due to relationship issues.
Following the incident, Arobo was laid to rest by his grieving family. Friends and classmates described him as compassionate and well-liked.
“He has been buried. His parents are devastated by the loss,” a source told “The Nation”.
Confirming the case, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Ayanlade Olayinka, said an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of his death.
This heartbreaking event comes less than a year after a similar situation involving Modupe Ayandare, a student of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko (AAUA), who also died by suicide. She reportedly left a note and was found in an uncompleted building following a church vigil.
