Today signals the end of a remarkable chapter in the life of Mr. Kegbe Martins, a distinguished Nigerian civil servant who has officially retired after 35 years of dedicated service to the nation. His journey, which began in 1990 as a young teacher at Community Grammar School Idiogba along the Atlantic coast, has taken him across the vast expanse of Nigeria; from the sands of Maiduguri to the greenery of Yola, and through the terrains of Cross River and Akwa Ibom.
Reflecting on his journey, Barr. Martins described it as a sojourn of grace, culminating in his final role as the State Coordinator of the National Examinations Council (NECO) in Oyo State. Speaking on his retirement, he said:
“I cannot thank God enough for this unmerited grace. The journey I modestly started as a classroom teacher saw me climaxed as the State Coordinator of NECO in Oyo State before bowing out today. I feel so fulfilled.”
Beyond public service, Mr. Martins remained committed to personal growth and academic excellence. Starting with an NCE in Economics and Mathematics, he pursued and attained the following qualifications:
B.Sc Ed in Economics and Statistics – University of Benin
M.Sc in Economics – University of Benin
LL.B – National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN)
LL.B – Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko
B.L – Nigerian Law School
He is now a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and a proud member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
With his vast experience, legal training, and physical vitality intact, Mr. Martins is not calling it quits just yet. He is now set to explore his next professional chapter in law and consultancy. He officially launches his firm:
