Youth Group Backing Peter Obi Denies Allegations of Inciting Chaos
The Obidient Movement Harmonization Nationwide, a youth wing supporting Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour party in the 2023 general election, has denied allegations made by Bayo Onanuga, a spokesperson, claiming that Mr. Obi is behind the planned August Protest against the government’s policies.
In a statement signed by Mmaduabuchi Chekwubechukwu, Head of Media and National Director of Mobilization, the movement described Bayo Onanuga as “irresponsible” and stated that the allegations are “entirely false and misleading.”
The statement from the movement reads partly:

BAYO ONANUGA IS AN IRRESPONSIBLE SPOKESPERSON
We, the youths wing of the OBIDIENT MOVEMENT HARMONIZATION NATION WIDE, categorically deny the baseless allegations made by the irresponsible spokesperson Bayo Onanuga that Mr. Peter Obi is behind the popular August Protest against the Anti-people policies of the government of President Tinubu.”
The movement emphasized that Peter Obi is committed to good governance and dividends of democracy for Nigerian citizens but is not involved in inciting chaos or orchestrating protests.
They urged those spreading the falsehoods to provide evidence or retract their statements.
The Obidient Movement reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful and democratic means of expression, promoting constructive dialogue, and addressing citizens’ genuine concerns.
They called for focus on working towards Nigeria’s betterment rather than fallacies.
