Wife Of Ondo State Governor Pledge Support For Fight Against Human Trafficking

The First Lady of Ondo State, Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, has expressed her commitment to supporting the fight against human trafficking across the state.

She made this known during a visit to the Nigerian Immigration Service headquarters in Akure, where she met with the State Comptroller, Felicia Anara, on Friday.

Mrs. Aiyedatiwa said the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen collaboration between the state government and the immigration service. She emphasized the urgent need for collective action against human trafficking, describing it as a grave threat to the dignity and future of the state’s young population.

She underscored the need for early intervention, public awareness, and strict enforcement of immigration laws to protect those at risk. Additionally, she advocated for increased representation of women in leadership roles, stressing that women play key roles in developing policies that safeguard vulnerable citizens and promote strong family values.

In response, Comptroller Anara praised Mrs. Aiyedatiwa for her dedication to addressing human trafficking and affirmed the service’s readiness to partner with the state government. She pledged to ramp up enforcement and monitoring efforts to disrupt trafficking networks.

Anara also expressed optimism that the meeting would lead to more unified and strategic actions in combating human trafficking.
